Teadee had been deaf for the past 17 years. Even when her mother called her from across the room, she couldn’t hear. In order to get her attention, she had to physically touch her and motion for her to come. Even hearing aids didn’t help. According to a hearing specialist, Teadee was 90% deaf in one ear and 75% deaf in the other.

She slowly said, “When I was younger, it was so difficult. I couldn’t even communicate with my own family. Many of them rejected me. I was lonely. I just felt like a person stuck in solitary confinement in prison… By the time I was in high school, teachers had begun to fail me on my exams because I couldn’t hear them teach. I wanted to end my life. My world was collapsing around me.”  When Teadee could no longer follow along in school, she was forced to drop out.

The night Teadee came to the CfaN Gospel Crusade, she prayed that God would do something for her, and that’s exactly what happened. She said, “When I came to the Crusade, I could feel the joy and excitement of all the people singing. But I couldn’t hear. I couldn’t follow along. I was deaf.”

She continued: “When the man of God started praying, I began to notice something happening to me. Things were taking place in my body. I began to feel a burning in my body. It was a burning that felt like my ears were on fire. It kept getting hotter and hotter. Then something inside me said, ‘Start giving faith to God.’ Suddenly my right ear opened and I could hear.”

Teadee’s brother, Nasser, immediately brought her to the platform to testify. With an amazed look in her eyes, she shared, “When I climbed onto the stage, I saw thousands of people. I was so overwhelmed.”

But before she could tell me what happened, her brother spoke to me and told me that God had only opened one ear and he asked me if I could pray for his sister again. She needed a "second touch".

Of course, I quickly agreed. I laid my hands on that precious young girl’s ears and prayed for the other ear to open. I prayed that BOTH ears would open and that she’d receive her hearing 100%.

With a broad smile, Teadee exclaimed, “And suddenly, I could hear out of both ears. It was wonderful. I was in shock. I hardly even knew where I was.”

The next day we took our cameras to Teadee’s home to confirm the miracle that happened. And with tears of joy in her eyes, she said, “I am so grateful to God for healing me. I’m so thankful to Him. Jesus is real. Jesus is alive. Turn to Him, and you will see what He will do for you.”

I’ll ask you again. Do you need a "second touch" in some area of your life? Perhaps it’s for something more than a physical healing.

In the New Testament, Mark is the only writer who records the miracle of the blind man from Bethsaida, who received a second miracle touch from Jesus (read Mark 8:22-25).

You know the story. They brought this blind man to Jesus and begged Him to touch their friend. What a blessed man he was to have such friends. The best thing we can do for our friends is to introduce them to Jesus. That’s a big part of what evangelism is all about.

Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of town. After Jesus touched him the first time, He asked the man if he saw anything. The man looked up and said, “I see men as trees, walking.”

So, the Lord touched him a second time, and the scriptures said, “he was completely restored and saw clearly.”

This is the only miracle recorded in the New Testament where Jesus touched his subject more than once to bring about a sufficient change. Yet when He saw the need, he didn’t hesitate to touch him the second time. Jesus wanted him to be totally healed.

I believe that many Christians today are like this blind man. They stand desperately in need of a "second touch" in so many ways. They have settled for part and partial when God wants them to be totally whole… complete… full and running over.

At the same time, it’s sad to say that some churchgoers have gotten to the point in their spiritual walk where they’ve become too cool to care, too sophisticated to serve, and too proud to participate. They need a fresh "second touch" of God’s presence and power.

• Problem into Possibility
• Pain into Power
• Sorrow into Success
• Tears into Triumph
• Grief into Grace and
• Stress into Strength.

A "second touch" can help you to rise up - jump up - stand up and stay up for God in the face of any test or trial.

God is not a respecter of persons. He loves us all. We sometimes need a "second touch". When Jesus touched this blind man the second time, He touched him with a heavenly concern, and optic nerves were quickened, and something loosed him for a total miracle.

• The first touch gives sight - the "second touch" gives clarity.
• The first touch gives life - the "second touch" gives meaning to life.
• The first touch gives hearing - the "second touch" gives understanding.

The words of Paul the Apostle are still true today. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 KJV).

One last time: Do you need a "second touch"? Would you like to receive a fresh second miracle touch from the Lord? Is there some area (be it physical, spiritual, or emotional) where you’ve prayed and good things “began” to happen . . . it may have “improved” somewhat; a miracle “started”; it’s “close”, but it’s just not completely “there” or “finished” yet? We want to PRAY for you!

FIRST: Fill in the form below and write down (in a word or two) the "second touch" miracles you want us to pursue in the realm of faith through prayer.

SECOND: Sincerely pray to the Lord from your heart and begin to thank Him for the "second touch" He has for your life… and don’t be afraid to ask Him for a complete and total miracle.

AND THEN: Be willing to obey Him in everything He prompts you to do. Be quick to say “yes” to His leading in every area of your life, including your time and resources.

Always remember – when you give a financial gift, you are not buying a miracle or bargaining with God. And you’re not paying for our prayers. You know we’ll gladly pray for you (at any time) regardless of whether or not you ever give an offering.

When you give to the work of the Lord, what you are doing is honouring God, using your faith, and (like the lad with the 5 loaves and 2 fish that fed 5,000) you are simply giving the Him something that He can use to build His Kingdom and bless you at the same time.
