A FULL "SNAKE PIT"

BUJUMBURA, BURUNDI
Dear Mission Partners,
Tonight, our evangelistic Gospel campaign began with more than 70,000 people in attendance! There is an electricity in the air. The whole city of Bujumbura is buzzing with anticipation. I’m sure this will be a historic week for the nation of Burundi.
Tonight, as always, I preached a simple and clear message of salvation to which tens of thousands responded enthusiastically. As we were praying for the sick, demons began to manifest all over the field. I had not preached about deliverance, or prayed for the demonised, but the “snake pit” (where our counsellors cast the demons out) was filled. Afterwards, amazing miracles took place. Some of them are listed below:
- A young man who had been deaf for the last 23 years in his left ear was instantly healed.
- Another young man, dumb from birth, spoke for the first time tonight. His first word, in front of the huge crowd, was “Jesus!” I prophesied over him that he would become a preacher of the Gospel.
- Another remarkable testimony came from a mother who had brought her baby that was deaf and blind to the service. When I shouted, the baby was suddenly startled and began to cry. The baby began looking intently at everything. It was clear the he could hear and see.
What a wonderful meeting – and this is only the beginning. Please continue to pray:
- Pray for the Gospel to penetrate every heart.
- Pray for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit with signs, wonders, and miracles.
- Also, in this Gospel campaign we are using a brand new sound system, which many of you helped us to purchase. Our team has their hands full working out all of the kinks. Please pray for the technicians and the equipment.

7 PER SQUARE METRE!

Dear Mission Partners,
Tonight the crowd grew to more than 100,000 people here in Bujumbura, Burundi. The crowd at the front of the field was packed so tightly that it looked like no one could move. Peter van den Berg said there were up to 7 people per square metre! It seems that the whole city is coming to the meetings. Even the Fire Conferences (that take place each morning), have been attended by high ranking government officials, including the First Lady, the Vice President of the Senate, the Vice Speaker of the House, the wife of the second Vice President, Senators, M.P.s, Generals, Cabinet members, and many others. The Lord has truly given us a platform to speak to the nation.
Before the meeting tonight, the sky was dark, and ominous clouds hovered over the field. We heard thunder, saw lightning, and felt drops of rain. It seemed very likely that we could get rained out. But we prayed (as I’m sure many of you were praying), and the clouds blew over. Not one drop of rain fell during the meeting! Praise the Lord! I asked one of my apprentices, Mica-El Mumba, to share with the people. He did an excellent job. Then I preached about the blood of Jesus, we broke all curses, and then I prayed for the sick in Jesus name.
- A baby who had been lame walked tonight for the first time in two years!
- A young man whose leg had been bent received a complete healing. His leg straightened and he was able to walk without his crutch.
- A man’s stomach tumour (which he had for 14 years) vanished!
- Two other lame women, and many many others, were also healed.
The greatest miracle was the tens of thousands of people who were born again. This is the reason we have come to Burundi! And it is what will make the eternal difference!
Tomorrow morning, the final meeting of the Fire Conference will take place. Please pray for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will spark a revival in this nation.

A PRESIDENTIAL WORSHIP LEADER

Dear Mission Partners,
This morning was the final meeting of the Fire Conference here in Bujumbura, Burundi. By the time Peter van den Berg finished preaching in the first session, the people were filled with faith and expectation. A massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit followed in both the Fire Conference and in the evening campaign meeting.
Tonight, the crowd grew to 150,000 people! The President of Burundi honoured us, by attending and opening the meeting. He even proceeded to lead the crowd in some worship with his wife. It’s the first time I’ve been in a meeting where the worship leader was the President!
After the preaching of the Gospel and praying for the sick, we heard many wonderful testimonies. These testimonies included several lame who can now walk, a woman who was a deaf mute was healed, and two people with large protruding growths which vanished after prayer…and others! All glory goes to Jesus.
Tomorrow is the final night of this campaign. We are looking for one more sweeping harvest. Thank you for praying.

DRUNK CHILDREN

Dear Mission Partners,
We’ve just returned from the State House where the President of Burundi lives with his family. Our team was invited to be their special guests after tonight’s Gospel meeting. We had another full service. There was wonderful worship, I preached a Gospel message, gave an invitation for salvation, and we prayed for the President and his top government officials who were all present. I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. They truly fear the Lord and desire to serve Him.
Tonight’s final meeting, of this Gospel Campaign, was an amazing success. The only difficulty that we had was the size of the crowd. There were so many people that were pressed onto that field. I was concerned, at certain points, that someone would suffocate. We removed the barriers so that the people could fill all the available space in front of the platform. The platform looked like a raft floating on an ocean of humanity!
More than a third of the population of the city of Bujumbura, the capital, was at the meeting tonight. Tens of thousands of people responded to the Gospel. Deaf ears opened, cripples walked, and many other miracles took place.
The last time that Christ for all Nations was in Burundi for a campaign was 25 years ago. Today there is a whole new generation, and most of the hundreds of thousands that attended this week’s meetings were young people who have now had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. The bishop sitting next to me on the platform told me that all three of his children were filled with the Holy Spirit last night. He said that they were so drunk in the Spirit that they had to be carried off the field. So many young people were saved, healed, delivered and baptised in the Holy Spirit this week that it’s hard to even imagine how the future will be affected. History has been made here! The future of Burundi is very bright.
Today is my birthday, and I could not think of a more wonderful gift than the privilege of sharing the love of God through Jesus Christ. Thank you for standing with us, shoulder-to-shoulder, in this historic harvest of souls. Now our hearts and prayers move to Rwanda where we will be in a few weeks for another Gospel Campaign. Please pray for us as we make final preparations for another massive harvest here in Africa.
